Brazil is on the East Coast of South America and is the largest country in South America. The amazon river flows across into the northern regions of Brazil. The amazon river is surrounded by much rainforest. This is where the cocoa nut comes from. Brazil ranks 3rd in cocoa production. Brazil is made up of many different cultures and each bringing a variety of food to Brazil. The Portuguese brought items such as sugar, citrus, fruits and many sweets. In cooking, brazilians use a large amount of eggs, fruits and spices(cinnamon and cloves).

Some typical foods consumed in Brazil would be dishes such as rice and beans. They eat a lot of hearty foods. Brazilians make many different stews such as a stew called feijoada which is a black bean and roasted meat stew and it is usually eaten on a Wednesday or Saturday lunch. Brazilians use a lot of vegetables in there meals especially in stews. Mangos, guavas, papayas and pineapples are often used in meals as well, these are eaten with breakfast mainly. Brazilians eat a lot of meats such as pork, fish and a large variety of seafood.

The Brazilian culture has impacted us as we eat chocolate. We eat chocolate in many ways as it may be hot chocolate, biscuits, cake, chocolate dipped strawberries or just a block of chocolate. In other aspects of the Brazilian culture and foods we don't really consume many other meals from Brazil as they are estranged to our palette. The reason for this is our family aren't very adventurous when it comes to new foods so we wouldn't consume many foods from Brazil.
